    Each heating zone has its own dedicated circulator pump, allowing water flow to be controlled independently based on the thermostat demand for that area. This configuration provides reliable circulation, responsive zone control and strong performance for systems with different flow requirements.

    Pump Zone Control Panel: Each heating zone has its own dedicated circulator pump, providing independent flow control, faster response times and dependable performance for larger systems or zones with varying flow requirements. A compatible boiler or other hydronic heat source is required and sold separately.

    Designed for Pump-Zoned Hydronic Heating

    This panel is designed to control circulation for radiant floor heating, baseboard heating, radiators, snow-melt systems and other closed-loop hydronic heating applications.

    Each heating area is connected to its own circulator pump and thermostat. When a thermostat calls for heat, the Taco switching relay activates the corresponding zone pump. Heated water is then circulated from the boiler through that zone and returned to the panel.

    Additional zone pumps can operate at the same time when multiple thermostats call for heat. Because each zone has its own circulator, the system can provide independent flow for areas with different heating loads, piping layouts or distribution requirements.

    The panel connects to a separately selected boiler and supply and return manifolds. The boiler should include an internal circulator pump, or a separate boiler-loop circulator must be added as part of the completed system design.

    Choosing the Correct Pump Option

    Standard-Flow Pump

    The standard-flow configuration uses a Grundfos UPS15-58FC three-speed circulator for each zone. Each pump can support up to eight properly designed 1/2-inch PEX loops, with loop lengths of up to 300 feet and a design flow of approximately 1 GPM per loop.

    High-Flow Pump

    The high-flow configuration uses a Grundfos UPS26-99FC three-speed circulator for each zone. Each pump can support up to 23 properly designed 1/2-inch PEX loops, with loop lengths of up to 300 feet and a design flow of approximately 1 GPM per loop.

    These loop quantities are general selection guidelines. Final pump selection must be based on the required system flow, piping size, pressure loss, loop lengths, manifold configuration, fluid mixture and operating temperature.

    Professional System Design and Installation Recommended

    Hydronic heating equipment should be selected using a professional heat loss calculation and a complete system design. Boiler capacity, supply water temperature, required flow, system pressure loss, PEX spacing, loop lengths, insulation and local climate should all be considered.

    The boiler, thermostats, supply and return manifolds, distribution piping and heating loops are not included unless specifically stated in the selected product configuration.

    The connected boiler should include an internal circulator pump, or a separate boiler-loop circulator must be installed. Final system piping, electrical connections, thermostat wiring, filling, purging, startup and commissioning should be completed by qualified professionals in accordance with applicable codes and equipment instructions.
